Kamma Kai Beach Villa — Sedgefield, South Africa
Creating Connection through Yoga, Mindfulness, Nature, Exploration, Nourishing Food & Community
Kamma Kai Beach Villa
The Reconnect Retreat is a four-day immersive experience offering a gentle pause from the demands of daily life. Step into a space where your mind softens, your breath deepens, and your body can unwind, move, and restore.
Nestled between the ocean, ancient forests, and serene lagoons of Sedgefield — South Africa’s “Slow Town” — this retreat invites a conscious, mindful way of being.
Your days will flow with yoga, breathwork, reflective workshops, nourishing meals, walks in breathtaking nature, and authentic human connection. Beyond rest and rejuvenation, you will gain practical tools to sustain these shifts at home, leaving inspired, clear, and equipped with habits that support lasting wellbeing.
No prior experience is necessary — all yoga sessions are tailored to the group’s level. Everyone is able to decide what feels right for them to participate in, and if you feel its not for you, you can simply skip the session.
“Earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea, are excellent schoolmasters, and teach some of us more that what we could learn from books.” — John Lubbock

The Team
Yoga Retreat Host
Annika-Marie, Leick
Hello You,
I’m Annika and I can’t wait to welcome you to the Reconnect Retreat in February. During my recent travels I came to Sedgefield and fell in love with the beauty and magic of this place. I felt immediately held and inspired by the raw and expansive nature and the warm and kind hospitality of the people at Kamma Kai. Slowing down, deepening my yoga practice, and spending more time in silence and nature left me feeling calmer, more energised, and truly reconnected to myself and the beauty of life – and it inspired me to create this retreat.
I’m an experienced Yoga Instructor (RYT-200) of six years, Psychologist (BSc), Behavioural Scientist (MSc), and certified in health, fitness and nutrition (NCFE, Level 2).
Through my qualifications and professional experience, I bring a deep understanding of the human mind and body – and how to support people in creating lasting changes that promote overall well-being.
My teachings blend scientific understanding with personal experience in overcoming insomnia, mental health issues, burnout and autoimmune diseases.
This retreat is a new passion project for me, born from the meaningful and deep conversations about my journey that I’ve had with people in South Africa. It is fueled by my intention to help you tune into your body, mind and senses, pause, reflect, and (re)discover practices and habits that (re)connect you to your peaceful, healthy, relaxed and most importantly, joyful self.
The programme brings together the practices that supported my own healing – and I can’t wait
to share them with you.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
Chef
I’m a chef, food innovator, and advocate for planet-friendly eating with over two decades of
experience.
Through my cooking courses, workshops, and talks, I help people transform their relationship with food by making plants — grains, pulses, fruits, and vegetables — the heroes of every meal.
Blending my love for food and flavour with nutritional science and environmental awareness, my approach is rooted in balance – free from diet fads or dogma – and focus on simple, mindful, and joyful eating that nourishes both people and the planet.
